Our Approach
LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR
I am Felicia J. Jenkins. I enjoy listening, supporting, and helping to improve the life of everyone that I counsel. Counseling is not a job for me, it is a passion. I strive to be an ideal role model and coach for you, therefore I consciously ensure that I remain mentally, emotionally, and physically healthy. More importantly, maintaining balance in my personal life with limited or no conflicts are key to my daily peace. My purpose is to be a positive, nurturing, life-giving spirit that creates space to help you remove road blocks that prevents you from achieving happiness and your full potential.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. After moving to Atlanta to begin my career, I later earned my master’s in Clinical Psychology with a Counseling Specialty from The Georgia School of Professional Psychology. I simultaneously earned a diploma in Christian Counseling from Psychological Studies Institute (PSI) where I received intensive training in Counseling and the Integration of Psychology and Theology.
I have served in this field for more than 25 years with about 17 years in private practice. During this time, I have had extensive experience in working with children, teens, adults, and families in crisis. I specialize in depression, anxiety, relationships issues, stress, disruptive behavioral issues like ADHD and defiance, along with a few other emotional disturbances. I have facilitated workshops in these areas, trained and consulted with businesses and churches, and served as an adjunct professor in local colleges.
